Richland County to Benefit from Major Infrastructure Expansion

Ohio’s newly approved 2025-2026 biennial budget includes a $20 million investment to expand broadband infrastructure along the full length of the U.S. 30 corridor, stretching from the state’s eastern to western borders. This statewide project brings significant local impact to Richland County, where connectivity improvements are expected to enhance access, opportunity, and economic competitiveness.

Locally, the funding will support increased broadband coverage in and around Mansfield, Ontario, and Shelby, boosting service to key institutions such as North Central State College and the 179th Cyberspace Wing, as well as underserved areas in need of reliable high-speed internet access.
